Pintastic Tuesday: Does It Work Edition

I know it's almost not Tuesday anymore. I've been super busy all day. I'm helping a friend who has a large Etsy order due out, so I serged while she hemmed today. And then I set up my jewelry at a dance studio after that. I'm plumb tuckered out.

I've been really, really trying to do some of the things that I pin. Like really, really. So I'm gonna give you a rundown of what worked for me and what didn't.

Make this. The Pioneer Woman is so amazing. This so cheesy, so good cheddar broccoli soup warmed the belly of my sick husband and was very satisfying. I paired it with some "everything Italian" bread from the Wal-Mart bakery.

I've been using the basic Borax, washing soda, and Fels Naptha laundry detergent for a while, but I wanted something with a bit more cleaning power and a nice aroma. This fits the bill. I halved the recipe from How Does She? to see how I would like it and I love it! The original recipe says it makes a year's worth of detergent. I'm anxious to see how long my batch will last.

I had high hopes for this whitening recipe. But, alas, this one from One Good Thing let me down. My dingy comforter smelled a lot better but wasn't any whiter. Maybe it will work for you, but I will continue trying all the other great tips on that blog!

Oh my goodness, was this play dough a hit at our house! So easy and yummy smelling! I actually modified Running With Glitter's recipe and  whipped up some brown play dough by mixing in cocoa powder and it smelled so good it prompted Hudson to take a big ol' bite. Also, it's perfectly squishy.
