Cheapest Wreath Ever!

REMINDER!
Don't forget to enter my giveaway for the My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software!

I don't think I've ever had a wreath on my door. Not even at Christmas time. So, I sure as heck have never made one. Well, the day has come. I made a wreath. (Well, we made a wreath...Maverick helped.)

So, I went all "Thrive" (awesome blog...go check it out) and decided to rock what I got to decorate my door. It was a bit time consuming, but it was totally and completely free to make. I had everything I needed right in my house.

I was going to do a whole tutorial thing, but I can't find the charger for my camera so I had to resort to using my iPhone. But, you'll be ok. Just excuse the crappy photos.

Ok, so here's what you need.

Cardboard, cut into a wreath form
Tea bags
Coffee filters
Markers
Spray bottle
Hot glue and gun
Ribbon

Ok, so first get your tea going. Boil water, pour over a handful of tea bags, and steep for 10-15 minutes.

Cut your wreath form out while you wait. I just traced a lampshade on a cardboard box.

Take out your tea bags and add your filters. I used maybe 1/4 of the pack. Sorry, I'm not very concise.

Let 'em sit for half an hour or so, then ring them out and let them dry.
I used the dryer set on the lowest heat setting because I'm so utterly impatient. It took maybe 10 minutes.

Now here's the fun part. Get your preschooler and some markers and go to town. Color around the edges of your filters. I did leave some plain. The preschooler is optional and may be omitted.

Lay them out on a towel and start hosing them down with the spray bottle. The color will bleed and look, like, totally awesome. Pop 'em in the dryer again for a few minutes and until they get all nice and crispy.

I went ahead and attached my ribbon to the wreath form.

Ok, now start gluing. Just do it randomly and make it as full as you want.

And you're done! How festive are you?!

Sorry my pictures sucked.

Thanks for stopping by!

My Memories Suite Giveaway!

For those of you wondering...No, I'm not dead.

In the past month, we have rented out our house and moved to an apartment. I then did not have internet for about 10 days. Then, both my kids got sick. So,
my poor little blog got neglected.

Anyway, I'm back and with a GIVEAWAY!!! YAY!!!!!

The giveaway if for My Memories digital scrapbooking software ($40 value). It offers a powerful set of creative tools and sharing options that no other software can provide. It is great for a beginners or an experienced scrapper.

You can build a page from scratch, like this one. It took me about 10 minutes start to finish. I used the background papers and embellishments provided with the download.

Or you can use a ready made page from the online store and just drop in your pictures. This page took all of 2 minutes. There are hundreds of different options through the website, priced free and up.

The initial download of My Memories Suite comes with lots of different background pages, text options, and embellishments and more can be downloaded from the online store. There is also the option to add and audio to your album! Try doing that with paper!

There are a ton of different sharing options. You can print out the pages and put them in a traditional scrap book or you can order a professionally printed and hardbound book to share with your family and friends. Calendars and cards are also available through My Memories.

There are also digital ways to share. You can put your album on a DVD, CD, or even a digital file to share on Facebook or play on your iPod.

I think the My Memories Suite software is definitely worth the cost, which is $40. It saves time, money (who hasn't spent $5 on a pack of stickers??) and it's fun. Plus, no worries about cropping anything wrong!

You can enter the giveaway two ways.

-Go to the My Memories Suite website and look around. Come back here and comment letting me know the name of your favorite scrap kit.

-Go to the My Memories Facebook Page and "like" it. Comment here and let me know.

Please leave your email in the comments!

The winner of the giveaway will be announced on October 5th.

As an added bonus, my readers with receive a discount of $10 off the purchase price plus a $10 coupon to use towards downloads when ordering when using the promo code STMMMS92643 at checkout!

Good Luck!
