REMINDER!
Don't forget to enter my giveaway for the My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software!
So, I went all "Thrive" (awesome blog...go check it out) and decided to rock what I got to decorate my door. It was a bit time consuming, but it was totally and completely free to make. I had everything I needed right in my house.
I was going to do a whole tutorial thing, but I can't find the charger for my camera so I had to resort to using my iPhone. But, you'll be ok. Just excuse the crappy photos.
Ok, so here's what you need.
Cardboard, cut into a wreath form
Tea bags
Coffee filters
Markers
Spray bottle
Hot glue and gun
Ribbon
Ok, so first get your tea going. Boil water, pour over a handful of tea bags, and steep for 10-15 minutes.
Cut your wreath form out while you wait. I just traced a lampshade on a cardboard box.
Take out your tea bags and add your filters. I used maybe 1/4 of the pack. Sorry, I'm not very concise.
Let 'em sit for half an hour or so, then ring them out and let them dry.
I used the dryer set on the lowest heat setting because I'm so utterly impatient. It took maybe 10 minutes.
Now here's the fun part. Get your preschooler and some markers and go to town. Color around the edges of your filters. I did leave some plain. The preschooler is optional and may be omitted.
Lay them out on a towel and start hosing them down with the spray bottle. The color will bleed and look, like, totally awesome. Pop 'em in the dryer again for a few minutes and until they get all nice and crispy.
I went ahead and attached my ribbon to the wreath form.
Ok, now start gluing. Just do it randomly and make it as full as you want.
And you're done! How festive are you?!
Sorry my pictures sucked.
Thanks for stopping by!
